The Town of Pound was named in honor of Thaddeus Coleman Pound (1833 -  1914). He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, Wisconsin State Senate, Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin and a member of the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin.
